I enjoy the problem-solving aspect of IT and the fast-paced environment associated with evolving technology. I love to troubleshoot and absorb the knowledge gained by solving a complex issue. My passion for computers started when my mom upgraded our house to dial-up internet. Ever since then I have rarely not been on a computer. I was originally involved in education which was a nice fit given my BA in history but never felt like it was my calling. When I finally decided to switch careers, I was very nervous and not sure I was making the right move. Fast forward to today and I could not imagine doing anything else. The experiences I have gained working at Gainesville Regional Utilities and the University of Florida has given me unique perspectives over a wide area of IT. From keeping the city utility computers running to helping student government elections go off smoothly, it has never been a dull day. At the end of the day, IT is all about ensuring a smooth user experience and stopping problems before they escalate. This user-based approach has served me well in forging personal relationships with my colleagues and only strengthens my dedication to problem solving. I am a firm believer in the mantra of Always Be Learning and this is how I try and approach every day.
