Integral Quality Care is a Provider Service Network contracted with the State of Florida to provide Medicaid services to roughly 100,000 members. We provide all aspects of care for our members utilizing our provider network of over 20,000 providers, pharmacies & ancillary providers. As a Medicaid provider for the State of Florida our operations were heavily regulated and strictly guided by compliance. As Technology Director and HIPAA Security Officer for Integral I was responsible for all aspects of technology, compliance & security. Tasks ranged from architecting and managing the complete buildout of all technology infrastructure and processes to managing HIPAA compliance and security programs. The priorities were focused on improving the quality of care for our members through improved technology and processes as well as guaranteeing the security and privacy of the high volumes of medical data that was generated and processed daily.

Sherloq Solutions maintains two lines of business both centered on Early Out medical billing and bad debt medical collections. Our clients are primarily multi-hospital systems placing thousands of accounts a day within our different lines of business. I was brought on at Merchants Association after a two year absence from the previous Technology Director to help overhaul the company infrastructure and business processes across our two lines of business. My initial projects were centered on stability and scalability of the technology and physical infrastructure including a complete overhaul of our 1500sqft data center, implementation of a new Predictive Dialer system and SQL 2012 Data Warehouse and Reporting systems. I have architected and implemented scalable VM Ware cluster environment across 3 SAN’s with offsite VM Disaster Recovery capability and eliminated 70% of the aging physical servers and operating systems from the environment.

Managed the development and deployment of all technology and business processes related to Luvo Medical’s in-house developed Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. Built from the ground up, the Luvo Medical EMR application is a HIPAA compliant web application built to handle storage of a patients medical history, previous medical records, process medical insurance claims and manage office visits and scheduling. My role in the project ranged from development of all business processes related to the EMR, to deployment and administration of individual customer instances of the application.At Luvo Medical I oversaw the merger between our company and another industry software company which included taking over support for their EMR system and migration of all their practices utilizing the software over to our Luvo Medical EMR. This project involved a large scale data conversion from their MongoDB/Ruby environment over to our new EMR’s MySQL/PHP environment.

At Lending.com I was part of the start-up team tasked with building an Enterprise Architecture from scratch that would allow the company to scale quickly while providing a stable foundation for years to come. I lead the construction of a 2000sqft data center as well as architecture and implementation of the entire technology infrastructure, starting with a large VMWare cluster all the way though software development and into Business Process Design.The environment consisted of a full Microsoft deployment including AD Domain, Exchange, Sharepoint, SQL Datawarehouse. I also architected and managed our development team in writing a custom built Loan Origination System for mortgage processing and underwriting all written in C# .Net. Rounding out the infrastructure, was the implementation of a new Cisco UCCE Enterprise VOIP call center for 400 agents as well as a NICE Advanced Audio Analytics system for call monitoring, speech to text indexing and real-time call flagging, all of which was integrated with our custom written LOS.

I was brought on board at Xerox to help solve the problem of how to accurately track print jobs across their entire facility so they could ensure every document was within its 48 hour SLA. The problem was made more complex by the fact that at any given point 10,000 print jobs could be in their facility, jobs were shipped out 4 times a day, and were received 24/7 in real-time as they were generated by the client.I worked closely with the business unit director and the client to develop a tracking application that would allow the client, the business unit director and the production staff to monitor in real time the overall status of the documents in their facility while also allowing drill down detail views down to specific print jobs and even individual pages within a job. One of the applications main benefits was its ability to visually represent the overall health of the ~10,000 jobs in production compared to the SLA. Prior to the tracking system, the business unit director only had the ‘gut feeling’ of the production staff to determine how they were performing and overall numbers were not available until the accounting was completed at end of month.

At Enki Systems I lead the business process design team and served as the lead interface & usability designer during the creation of our flagship product. Enki Systems was contracted by Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas to design, build and support a system to allow TCU’s Academic Athletics Department to track student athletes’ grades and academic performance to ensure compliance with NCAA regulations. The system tracked all aspects of TCU’s 500+ student athletes’ academic careers, allowing department administrators to quickly and easily identify and help students that are in danger of falling below the NCAA’s eligibility requirements.As BP and UI designer, I worked with the administrators of TCU’s Athletic Academic Department to map out and develop the workflow and business logic that was required to accurately track such a large group of students. Over the period of a year, we converted a word-of-mouth and paper process into a streamlined and automated web application.The system was so well received that it was licensed and installed to numerous other colleges including Texas A&M, University of North Texas and Michigan State.
