My responsibilities include:• Ensuring that company financial reports are prepared in compliance with policies and directives, IFRS, US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and other reporting requirements.• Managing Payroll, Accounts receivable, Accounts payable, Intercompany transactions, Sales accounting, Financial reporting, Travel & Business expense and Financial Systems departments.• Developing and improving processes, systems and controls to safeguard the financial assets of the company.• Managing general accounting function, which includes monthly management reporting, quarterly SEC reporting, annual statutory reporting and balance sheet management.• Implementation of business vision and strategy for Finance within the Accounting department.• Establishing relationships with and providing support to key stakeholders.• Implementing controls and good governance principles over financial processes such as Reconciliations and reviews of key balance sheet sections and business cycles (e.g. order to receivables cycle).• Financial modelling and cash flow management with regards to key business cycles• Ensuring compliance with internal and external statutory and corporate governance requirements.• Preparing meeting packs for the audit committee and board and to attend and present at these meetings.• Liaising with internal and external auditors and executive management and overseeing the preparation and compilation of the annual financial statements.• Developing and optimising financial systems.• Coordinating and developing of annual departmental budget, including monitoring of expenses and variances.• Responsible for directly managing a team of 60 employees across 4 locations across Africa, Middle East and Asia.• Responsible for recruiting new talent for Finance department and rejuvenating the departmental culture.• Strategic leadership to the Finance and Operations senior managers with regard to the utilisation of the financial accounting resources
