I started at Storyville at the very beginning with a front row seat on the startup bus. Living there for 13 years allowed me to experience many chapters in its story. It gifted me scenarios and possibilities that I had not dreamt, conceived or hoped I would do. Those chapters helped me make mistakes, think deeply, learn exponentially, and develop strengths I didn’t know were mine. But most meaningful, my heart and passion grew for people and healthy organizational culture.The most important lesson I learned? You can’t do much without TRUST. Followers have to trust those who are leading. Those responsible to lead do well to honor those giving their time and energy for the cause. Individuals committing their soul to leadership’s care need transparency and love.It’s all about CULTURE, CULTURE, CULTURE. You cannot build a positive, long-term, sustainable culture without trust.The second most important lesson? The first step to actualizing success in anything is not telling yourself “I can’t”. Never write or repeat a negative script over yourself, your team, or your business. You get what you believe, declare, and communicate.I am proud of the projects [Accomplishments] below. I view them less as a list of achievements, and more like chapter titles. Not all are “personal” victories, alone. Teammates and role players lived in each short story. I was intimately involved in each and can speak with passion to the details and lessons learned.What I remember now is how they helped form me into who I am today.But before I get to the #wins, I’ll first share my biggest #fails. Valuable leaders show vulnerability, for the betterment of their person, team, and organization.I list these with thankfulness, full of fond memories for the highs, as well as the lows.
