Conceived, developed, implemented metrics and analysis system that integrated multiple databases and generated KPIs and product analysis. Used product analysis system to calculate demonstrated field reliability, analysis of impact of production fall out on quality, and analysis of product design parameters on BGA Cratering and ISO9000 and TL9000 metrics in a timely manner. Responsible for quality presentations to customers. Determined product reliability using reliability analysis software (Windchill) during product development and bench marked performance against reliability models using field data and Weibull analysis. Designed reliability demonstration test for new product and as a demonstration of effectiveness of corrective actions. Wrote product quality plans for manufacturing and product release.

Accepted and met the challenge to improve quality levels in Intel Telecom business, as demonstrated by reducing open customer corrective action requests from over 100 to less than 10 in 12 months and improved the early failure rate from 10% to less than 0.5% in 18 months. Built team of QREs with S.M.A.R.T goals and metrics to address continuous improvement. Provided in-depth product analysis and information to product teams and management not previously available. Developed central data repository and automated standardize product queries with metrics published to internal website. Communicated product and quality information with continuous improvements KPIs to internal and external customers, conducted quality reviews and lead discussions to set next level requirements.

Developed and managed continuous improvement system and along with field returns (RMA) failure analysis, quality training, vendor/customer quality interface. Provided “hands on” support of quality issues. Integrated quality and reliability into new product development cycle. Performed thermal analysis (Flowtherm software) on ATCA circuit boards and chassis.

Voice Technology Group was a small company of 75 employees which was heavily engineering centric (50 of 75 people were engineering). Product was telecom boards design to connect proprietary telecom systems with generic voice mail systems, permitting the customer a full function affordable telecom system. Circuit cards were manufactured through contract manufactured, but system assembly and configuration was in-house to customer requirements. Quality Manager, was chief cook and bottle washer position with activities involving product quality issues resolution, dealing with vendor quality, developing and presenting customer quality reports, managing repair technicians and developing a real time metrics system that monitored production yields, field returns with fault Pareto charts for both.

Company designed and manufactured power supplies and transformers for commercial and military markets. Company had 129 employees and Quality Manager had 3 quality control inspector direct reports. I held positions as electrical technician, manufacturing engineer, quality engineer and quality manager in this company. In my role as quality manager implemented Mil-I 45208 quality inspection system followed by Mil-Q 9858 Quality Management system. I wrote the quality manual and quality representative for Hyperion during many successful customer quality audits. During my time as manufacturing engineer, I implemented lot control system, designed and built universal transformer test fixture that reduced test time from five minutes to less than one minute and reduced the delinquent on time delivery time from one year to less than 2 weeks in less than one month of taking this position. I consider my self expert on both transformer and power supply technology.
