The Human Family is a multi-disciplinary media organization dedicated to the creation, support, promotion and distribution of human rights, social justice and social issues based projects. The Human Family was established in 2017 and is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Fargo, North Dakota.

The mission of the North Dakota Human Rights Film & Arts Festival is to educate, engage and facilitate the discussion of world-wide human rights and social justice topics, successes and abuses through film, video, alternative media and art.

Responsible for creating and strategically implementing organization's communication efforts both internally and externally. Promote a positive public image and advance the efforts to raise awareness to the Agency and its service areas through the design and development of clear and consistent Agency communication. This position collaborates with other internal groups in the organization to achieve brand consistency, coordination of messages, and the highest standards for external communications.

The Coffman Company is an umbrella organization that encompasses three distinct service lines: Freelance production services including directing, producing, line-producing, motion and still image production, post production and animated design; Publishing services, including the upcoming book Those Among Us and the magazine North Dakota Filmmaker; and Fine Art Photography products featuring limited and opened edition artwork of Sean Coffman, and commercial photography offerings.

The Disaster Case Manager for the Lutheran Disaster Response program is responsible for assessing local disaster recovery needs through direct contact with individuals or families and developing a recovery plan. The Case Manager acts as an advocate with various recovery agencies and organizations on behalf of clients, and is responsible for ensuring compliance for various policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations and for reporting to agencies as needed. The Disaster Case Manager also supervises VISTA volunteer or other office volunteers if available.

Responsible for managing, facilitating and coordinating the effective delivery of all emergency service programs within eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota, totaling 37 counties and over 600,000 individuals. Delivery programs encompass the disaster cycle, including preparedness (focusing on resiliency and mitigation), response, and recovery topics. Responsible for developing, maintaining and growing relationships with key constituents, including state and local governmental partners, and community profit and non-profit entities.Responsible for developing, coordinating and facilitating home fire mitigation programs with rural and urban fire departments and city and county emergency managers. In FY15, completed eleven programs in eleven cities in five counties over a nine month period, installing nearly 900 smoke alarms and replacing over 270 batteries in 732 homes. In total, over 2,000 households were visited and provided information on fire safety and emergency preparedness programs.Designed, applied for, managed, facilitated and was responsible for documenting and reporting the region’s first AmeriCorps program through the State of North Dakota. Managed four positions in two locations to provide disaster preparedness education to over 1,700 individuals in vulnerable populations throughout North Dakota.Responsible for recruiting, training, supervising and managing the performance of staff and approximately 150 volunteers working within the Disaster Services Department. Also responsible for developing, maintaining and encouraging a culture of communication to improve volunteer satisfaction, retention and organizational capacity to efficiently and effectively carry out the mission of the American Red Cross. Have initiated and implemented a volunteer hierarchy designed after a traditional ICS structure to empower volunteer leadership and build redundancy in response operations.
