Starting in 2012, Collin has been an active freelance music engineer in both live and studio work. In the studio, Collin has engineered, mixed, and/or mastered over 50 releases since 2015. Specializing in rock, folk, and jazz, he has also taken on the role of producer, assisting in the editing of compositions and adding additional instrumentation to the arrangements.As a live sound engineer, Collin has worked on productions in both music and theater. He has provided live mixing, live recording, and backline duties with artists ranging from Grammy-award winner Janis Siegel to indie rocker Mac DeMarco, as well as a variety of local bands and ensembles in both Chicago and Bloomington, IN. He has done live sound in rock, jazz, folk, and hip-hop and provided sound for both musical and non-musical theater performances.

Systems Engineer at Public Media Engineering LLC, a contract broadcast consultation firm in Chicago, IL. During his time with the company, he has assisted in the large-scale facility move and rebuild in both Seattle and San Diego following the merge of the Entercom broadcasting company and CBS Radio. He also took part in a two-station relocation from Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. in Los Angeles. In 2019, Collin was the on-site manager for the rebuild of NPR's Tacoma affiliate KNKX. Locally in Chicago, Collin and the rest of PME have tended to the active maintenance of over 50 media facilities including Chicago Public Radio, SBS Chicago, USA Today, and the Educational Media Foundation.

Teaching assistant for the Jacobs School of Music's "Introduction to Personal Recording" class, assisting in the hands-on instruction of recording techniques and theory including analog signal flow, working with DAWs, and mixing.

Acts as the head of the WIUX production committee, taking charge of the writing, recording, and editing of all of WIUX's liners, sweepers, legal IDs, and underwriting.

Host of a weekly indie-format music show on WIUX-LP Bloomington.

Takes charge of coordinating all scheduled programming for the FM studio at WIUX, along with communicating with DJs on behalf of the WIUX board of directors. Also acts as a functioning member of the 20+ person Board of Directors and, beginning August 2015, the co-head of the WIUX Programming Committee.

Head of the upkeep of the station's "variety rock" format while adhering to FCC guidelines, reporting weekly to CMJ, and keeping in touch with representatives from many record labels and distribution companies.
