I'm a storyteller. This starts with an idea, or a theory; I develop this idea through the use of evidence, such as data. Traditionally many think that is where the value is: Analysts that can crunch numbers and provide a series of charts, figures and statistics. I have a different view - I strongly believe that analysis is far less valuable than the insights derived from it. I believe, analysis only becomes insightful when you can tell it in a way that the audience understands. This is why I'm passionate about simple insights about complex problems because if you overcomplicate an insight, then it becomes less accessible.Currently, I'm Head of Operations and Innovation at Utilizer - an energy consulting startup. In this role, I've had the pleasure to provide energy insights to thousands of companies Australia-wide, project manage multi-million dollar energy projects and help businesses achieve critical cost reductions.I began my journey originally studying Physics, which then lead me to Pure Mathematics and Informatics. Ultimately, I followed this path because pure mathematics and informatics gave me the tools to understand and investigate the world and beyond, i.e. it meant that I could apply myself to a multitude of different areas, rather than one particular niche.Along the way, I discovered the powerful insights and growth I could drive in business' through identifying existing processes that could be improved and then implementing the solution via my 'toolkit'. I love to automate and drive efficiencies, because it frees up more employee time to further drive the growth of the business.
