With Dr. Greg Buck, initiated research in the characterization of the regulatory genetic response of the human pathogen, Cryptosporidium hominis, to heat shock, a universal metabolic process. Analyzed upstream regions of putative heat shock genes for highly significant short sequences, possible cis-regulatory elements. Corroborated coregulation of these genes with real-time quantitative RT-PCR and microarray experiments. First author manuscript published in PLoS ONE.
