-This was my Biosystem Engineering Senior Design Project.-The team for this project consisted of me and a single teammate.-Designed a system for researchers to conduct experiments on electromagnetic wave characteristics to heat food more evenly inside a microwave oven.-Used specification sheets to determine the hexadecimal and binary values and designed/built a software with a GUI to communicate with a solid-state generator to send the microwaves into the cavity.-Implemented various 3D printed parts for mounting a thermal camera, dehumidifying fan, and fiber optic temperature sensors onto the microwave cavity.-Developed a post-processing multi-size dynamic thermocouple “Hedgehog” system that can be used to determine the evenness of heating of the subsurface layers of the food type.
