Contract Mixing Plant Operator

The job of the Motorhand is to safely and efficiently ensure that the regular preventative maintenance and repair activities for the generators, main engines, air compressors, portable water system, drill water manifold and pumps, and cold start air compressors occur in a timely manner to prevent downtime and ensure the efficient and continual functioning of the mechanical equipment used in the operation of the drilling rig.Perform regular rounds to look, listen and feel the equipmentAnticipate problems that may occur and implement corrective action to prevent problems from developing. When problems are found, analyze the problem area and problem solve / implement a solution to resolve the issue and keep the system operationalEnsure that fuel and oil transfers are performed in a safe manner while complying with all company rules and regulationsAssist the Mechanic with major mechanical problems and repairs that he / she does not have the expertise to completeProvide relief on the drill floor for the Floorhands, and when trained the Derrickhand and DrillerOperate the forklift to offload / back load / relocate equipment, pipe, tubulars, casings, ect.Derrickhand is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and support function of the mud module (sack area, mud pumps and mud pit / shakers). The Derrickhand works under the direction / supervision of the Driller, but reports directly to the Rig Manager.Preventive maintenance and general repairs to the mud pumps and associated equipment including changing out the mud pump liners, as requested by the Driller or the Mud EngineerEnsuring the chemicals and mud mixture (properties) is of sufficient type and quantity to meet the needs of the drilling operationsPerform the general housekeeping, maintenance and upkeep of the equipment in the chemical / mud pits / mud pumpsAssisting the Driller with raising and lower drill pipe in and out the hole during tripping operations

Operated mixing plant during coil tubing and work over rig procedures such as drill outs, clean outs, well preps, and fishing jobs.Measured and adjusted chemical dosage into fluids.Performed minor mechanical work and routine equipment maintenance.Made appropriate repair recommendations for malfunctioning equipment.Upkeep of live job log recording pressures, chemical dosage and fluid rates.Retrieved and performed required tests for quality and levels of water on surface and coming through mixing plants by checking PH, chlorides, TDS, salt percentage, viscosity, weight, and temperature. Conducted safety inspections and followed safety rules and procedures.

Insured proper rig up and rig down of equipment.Operated water filtration units pre and post chemical injection.Made appropriate repairs for malfunctioning equipment including chemical pumps and flow meters.Handled preventive and corrective maintenance to maintain proper equipment safety and functionality.Gauged frac-tanks, ONE-WAY totes, and APR totes pre, post, and throughout shift so that levels of chemicals and fluids are known.

Logged detailed and thorough records of maintenance performed.Served as first responder for all facility and equipment issues.Repaired and replaced plumbing parts, including fixtures and drain lines.Changed filters on all HVAC equipment.Re-keyed facility locksets, including electromechanical locksets.Worked closely with equipment maintenance engineers and technicians.Cleared clogged drains and replaced defective parts such as valves, faucets and fixtures.
