We provide world-class fermentation services for various industries, ranging from scale-up/manufacturability to production. With over a decade of experience developing efficient fermentation workflows, our fermenters range in size from small batches to bulk production. Our 42,000 sq ft facility is located in the high-tech belt north of Boston and custom fit for highly technical small and large-scale fermentations and downstream processing.

During my time as a Scientific Advisor at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), I provided scientific and management support to programs focusing on metabolic engineering and genome engineering. One of my main responsibilities was efficiently identifying, monitoring, and evaluating scientific research projects to ensure they were in line with DOD investment objectives. I took pride in playing a significant role in ideating and communicating new DARPA programs, which resulted in securing funding for a genome editing initiative aimed at developing innovative medical countermeasures. In addition, I proactively anticipated challenges in ongoing research endeavors and offered effective solutions to ensure operational excellence. My role also involved conducting technical assessments of research proposals and providing funding recommendations based on their potential to advance technology. I actively engaged in initial contract negotiations, ensuring that investment decisions were tied to performance metrics for optimal outcomes.

The Office of Energy Policy and Systems Analysis (EPSA) advises the Secretary of Energy and DOE senior leadership on critical energy issues and policies through analysis of and recommendations on the range of energy sub-sectors – from fossil fuels and renewable resources to transmission and distribution to efficiency and end uses. EPSA synthesizes and analyzes information from and collaborates with the Department’s program offices and the national labs. It also works with stakeholders from industry and NGOs and our Congressional, state, local and tribal partners to develop a more comprehensive, integrated and analytically based understanding of energy systems, various jurisdictions, and impacts to its participants.

PI: Dr. Pamela SilverAssociated with the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired EngineeringDuring my tenure at Harvard Medical School / The Wyss Institute, I applied synthetic biology principles to utilize microorganisms as a production platform for liquid transportation fuels and therapeutics. I devised an experimental approach enabling bacteria to produce fatty acids and alkanes from methane, methanol, and formate feedstocks for sustainable fuel production and developed a comprehensive understanding of microbial physiology, metabolic regulation, and genetic modification techniques for producing proteins and small molecules. Additionally I contributing to engineering E. coli's central carbon metabolism to utilize carbon dioxide as the sole carbon source. Furthermore, I successfully engineered yeast to produce the initial three intermediates in the lysergic acid metabolic pathway, aiming to develop migraine therapeutics. Overall, my experience showcases expertise in synthetic biology, biotechnology, and metabolic engineering, focused on harnessing microorganisms for valuable substance production.
