As a Research Associate, I collaborate with Dr. Kim-Schulze in expanding to a new multimillion-dollar facility, determining lab space, finding equipment, and coordinating material transfer and layout. My primary responsibilities include managing biospecimens, PBMC, BMMC, plasma and serum isolation, as well as conducting immune profiling assays. I assist in analyzing lab results and interpreting findings that contribute to research objectives. Maintaining safe lab environments and managing inventory. I'm proud to contribute to expanding scientific knowledge and improving human health in our new facility.

As a Research Associate I at Asklepois Biopharmaceutical Inc. (AskBio) in Research Triangle Park, NC, from May 2022 to June 2023, I led various initiatives to advance biopharmaceutical research and development. This included overseeing the complete process development of plasmid purification, implementing innovative DoggyBone DNA purification techniques, and conducting weekly meetings to discuss metrics and updates for the DNA Manufacturing team and management. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in biotechnology transfer projects, performed transformation processes, and utilized NanoPore technology for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) analysis. Hands-on experience in Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) and Column chromatography further enriched my skill set, while daily involvement in a Biosafety Level 1 (BSL 1) wet lab environment ensured meticulous oversight of bacterial cell cultures and adherence to safety protocols. This experience has equipped me with valuable expertise and a solid foundation in biopharmaceutical operations, enabling me to contribute effectively to complex projects while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

During my time as an Undergraduate Researcher at UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC, I conducted research on ApoE lipid binding proteins to uncover high-risk factors in neurodegenerative diseases. I performed a wide range of laboratory tasks, including cell culturing, biomarker detection, protein analyses using various microscopy techniques, western blots, and protein-based assays. Working in a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2) wet lab environment with mammalian cell cultures, I ensured adherence to safety protocols while gaining valuable hands-on experience. This role enhanced my understanding of neurodegenerative diseases and strengthened my technical skills for future biomedical research endeavors.
