As an Executive in Residence at ADL Ventures I have co-authored the $160M National Science Foundation Regional Innovation Engine Industrialized Offsite Construction Engine, co-authored and managed the Low-Carbon Mass Deployment Accelerator funded by the DOE's Office of Technology Transitions (OTT) Energy Program for Innovation Clusters (EPIC), co-authored "The Case for Scaling Volumetric Modular Construction: Hospitality Sector", acted as the industry lead for the Advanced Building Construction Collaborative work stream "Integrated Systems and Manufacturing".

We act as consultants to the construction industry and provide innovation scouting, construction science services, employee engagement programs, and more.Our work includes building corporate employee innovation platforms and innovation teams; sourcing hundreds of new technologies; leading international innovation challenges; acting as the Lead Investigator on high profile military base forensic investigations related to moisture issues; and assisting with raising $20M for a construction startup company.Our activities include: innovation pipeline development, reverse innovation, strategic arena scouting, rapid prototyping, market feedback, in-field piloting and innovative IT tools.Clients include product manufacturers, builders, developers, modular construction companies, insurance companies and government agencies related to construction industrialization and advanced manufacturing.

HomeWellness helps homeowners improve their homes health, comfort and energy efficiency and assists large organizations improve their employees’ homes through a cloud-based employee benefit resource. We do this with an online platform which we offer to organizations as an employee benefit. Employees improve the energy efficiency in their homes, and employers get happier, healthier and more productive employees.

The Modular Mobilization Coalition (MMC) is a group of independent modular construction companies with a nationwide network of dozens factories. The MMC builds standardized modules for clients who demand volume, velocity and value in their projects. In my role as Executive Director I operationalized the Coalition from inception to launch and led COVID-19 Business development efforts with the Federal Government and conducted modular factory operational and technical benchmarking on 50% of facilities.

As a member of the Board of Directors I supported the set-up of VBC's first factory in Hamlet, NC, provided guidance during VBC's bankruptcy purchase and startup of their second factory at the former Katerra factory in Tracy, CA, and acted as Councilor to their CEO providing strategic and senior executive hire guidance.

Manager of a new team of residential consultants who provided holistic building science services to homebuilders and their trades.

Lead a cross divisional team developing NAFTA strategies in the building and construction industry. Strategic developments resulted in the long term construction strategy for North America and a new internal construction team focused on building science based consulting for the external market.Developed an intranet based employee focused residential renovation program that many of the employee's engaged with and ultimately generated ~$2Mn in product sales.

I was a board member of the NAHB Leading Suppliers Council where we set the agenda for activities related to the NAHB's suppliers/manufacturing partners. I represented BASF Corp but also supported stronger efforts to develop more collaborative and holistic approaches in support of the residential construction industry.

Created the business strategy and implemented a "market based" consulting arm within a non-profit culture. Was promoted to director of the consulting team of 8 after early implementation success.Conceptualized (w/ J. Tooley), developed (w/ C. Rosemond) and implemented (w/ S. Hassel) a new product helping Homebuilders manage their construction "risk" which was one of the most exciting times of my career. This product is still used today by AE.

I was the lead investigator on hundreds of residential building failures around the US. Learned why buildings fail during this time period and how to fix them.Conducted thousands of residential home assessments as part of my role as Quality Control manager for Louisiana Pacific and Masco Corp "energy guarantee" programs. Assembled a external network of building science "black belts" who could be deployed on short notice to assess large scale building failures.

Co-founder and manager of day to day operations of core business. We provided energy consultation to local homebuilders in the Phx, AZ area. Grew the business into one of the largest providers of energy efficiency services to homebuilders on the West Coast servicing 10,000 new homes a year.
