Ever since I can remember, I have been competing on a sports team of one type or another. Growing up in South Texas, football is all anyone knows. Playing football at that level gave me the opportunity to play for a great team, not only in high school but in college as well. During my time in college, I could visit the training room and watch the team physical therapists do their work to get our players back into playing shape after an injury. When I saw the impact these therapists had on my teammates, I knew that was the job for me. As soon as I graduated from undergrad, I became a physical therapist technician. This opened my eyes to yet another facet of the physical therapy field: one-on-one experience with the patient. This motivated me further, knowing I could have a direct impact on not only the health and wellness of a patient but also the ability to bring joy into their life when they might need it most. I am eager to learn and excited to be in a field that is so fulfilling.
