Built off work from 2021 internship.-Updated CIP (Capital Improvement Project) Manual and Revenue Manual and assisted with processing Capital Improvement Project Requests.-Led policy and procedure revision process for a number of financial policies. Conducted benchmarking research and organized and presented findings to department leadership.

In my role as an intern for the City of Lake Oswego’s Sustainability Program, I researched and analyzed options for how the City could meet the City Council’s goal to “increase the availability and use of green energy in the community.” The project culminated in a comprehensive 15-page report that outlined my findings and recommended three possible actions the City could take to advance the City Council’s goal. Additionally, I had the opportunity to give a presentation on this material to the City Manager, the Sustainability Program Manager, and other City Manager’s Office Staff.I am incredibly grateful for the support and guidance provided by Amanda Watson, the Sustainability Program Coordinator, who served as the sponsor of my internship. I truly appreciate the opportunity provided by Amanda, Assistant to the City Manager Madison Thesing, and everyone at the City of Lake Oswego. As part of a Business Internship class (Programa de prácticas de empresas) I took while studying abroad, I had the opportunity to work as an intern in the Department of Administration of the Gran Hotel Luna de Granada, a luxury hotel in Granada, Spain. This was an immersive work experience in daily administrative and financial operations in which I successfully navigated work interactions in Spanish and developed a basic understanding of SAP software.

While serving as an intern for Marion County's Finance department, I conducted a comparative analysis of capital improvement planning. This project ended with a 28 page, 5000 word report and a presentation to the County's budget team. This report was intended to discover how other counties and local jurisdictions, in Oregon and nationally, report key information in their capital improvement budgets, and to make recommendations for how Marion County may make changes to its capital improvement budget, using examples supported by the other counties and local jurisdictions. This internship was an amazing opportunity for me; I had the opportunity to create a substantive final work product and greatly expand my knowledge of capital budgeting. My supervisor Daniel Adatto was very supportive and helped guide me in this internship. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity that he and Marion County Finance gave me and all of the time that he invested in my learning and success. I am also incredibly grateful for all of the work that my professor Richard Ellis put into arranging my internship and supporting me throughout the process.
