Construction layout and carpentry are a passion of mine. I love challenges that provide me with opportunities to learn. I work with a team of carpenters to operate on the job site and have been mentored by some amazing people who have taught me how to listen, perform and succeed. I strive to relay that perspective to my co-workers. My goal is to become someone in the industry that others feel encouraged and lead by. Values of mine are hard work, patience, listening, and doing the best work. I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE SUCCEED. I want the places I work at and my co-workers to grow, become more productive, and be the first call to get the job done.I also love woodworking. Cabinets to recurve bows. I spend most of my time outside where I hike, hunt, and ride ATVs. I also compete in obstacle races because I love the challenge and perseverance they require. Professional Experience:At Feldman Land Surveyors in Boston, MA, I worked under a very experienced Field Chief, as an instrument operator. I was quickly taught efficient and productive ways to complete construction layout. We completed topographic, ALTA, and control surveys. Then I was given the opportunity to be a Field Chief. I communicated with job supers daily to provide construction layout, grid control, and set benchmarks. My favorite part of this job reading plans and then transferring grid control onto the job site.I then moved onto a different role at, Meridian Land Services, in Amherst, NH. My primary role was as a field chief, but I also to worked with Carlson Survey and AutoCAD. I created files for the field crews and survey plans from the fieldwork data. We did a lot of residential work which was a new learning experience for me to see how a piece of virgin land turned into a large subdivision, and then onto new construction homes. We did boundary, topographic, wetland, elevation certification, plot plans, and construction layout surveys. NEXT! I joined the Carpenters Union, Local 339. I LOVE this job, surveying prepared me by teaching me how to read plans and conduct layout. Now I am getting to build the structures that I would previously layout! I enjoy going to work every day and being challenged with something new to build. Looking at the plans and figuring out the best way to execute the structure is a passion.
