Supported by 3 Service Center Managers, I was responsible for the development of the sales force growing the markets of West Michigan (Grand Rapids Service Center), Northern Michigan (Traverse City Service Center), and North Central Indiana (South Bend Service Center) for ABF and ArcBest Corporation’s subsidiaries. My responsibilities centered on hiring, training, and supporting efforts of ArcBest Account Managers to provide our customers with creative and innovative solutions to their complicated supply chain needs. ArcBest operates as a global provider of customized supply chain solutions by improving efficiency and achieving optimum performance. Our portfolio of services extend from the manufacturer's floor to time-definite and/or white glove final delivery. Our Account Manager's are the best trained in the industry and approach each opportunity in a consultative manner to ensure our customer's interests and expectations are exceeded.

Together with support of a strong operations team in Grand Rapids, we successfully developed an under performing territory, growing annual revenue from $800K to $5MM+ in less than 2 years by taking a consultative approach to understanding a wide range of customer's unique supply chain challenges. We were able to create customized logistics solutions to help businesses improve efficiency, and ultimately the bottom line, by reducing delivery exceptions and exceeding end of line customer expectations.In this role, ABF achieved profitable growth across all service offerings of ArcBest Corporation among a multitude of transport modes including ocean, air, truckload, intermodal, expedited, and LTL. 2015 President’s Club Qualifier.

Crash course in LTL transportation from both an operations and sales standpoint. For the first four months, the focus of the training as on operations and the supporting software. The goal was to develop a thorough understanding of the movement of products in the Less-Than-Truckload environment. After operations training, the last two months focused on learning the fundamentals of supply chain structure and logistics strategies utilized by various industries, and how ArcBest can support improvements across the entire spectrum of transportation and distribution needs.
