GlobalEd connected me with a startup music production company, Orfeo Productions, where I served as a cost/budget analyst. My primary duties were researching and transferring client profiles into a CRM, formulating client outreach strategies, and creating a short film budget.

The main products I sold at these nutrition stores were supplements for general health such as vitamins, proteins etc. Rarely was I working with another employee so I had the whole store to myself. The job required that I sell the inventory and try to "up sale" the customer to buy more products and in return I would earn a commission. This of course demanded that I communicate in a persuasive manner. Of my experience this has been the most important because it taught me how to sell which is required in some capacity for all jobs as one has to sell themselves or an idea during an interview or a presentation.

Although not related to my major, the experience I gained as a nurse assistant was valuable as it helped with my communication skills. Most of the people I dealt with were elderly and in a vulnerable state so I had to tailor my speech and delivery in a way that made the individual feel comfortable. The job required me to take vital signs like blood pressure, heart rate, breathing rate etc. The job also required me to assist those who needed help with daily living such as feeding and bathing.
