Venture Kamloops’ mission is to create economic growth to establish the city as the premiere location for business development. This is done by featuring the city’s resources and offering comprehensive information plus a full spectrum of support services to investors and entrepreneurs. This program is one that I helped develop during my time with the career education department at TRU. We created a 5 person team (including myself) to promote the department to the student body at TRU to help ensure student success in pursuing their career paths. Some of the responsibilities include:-Weekly promotional activities throughout the campus-Event planning, coordination and execution-Social media content management-Various public speaking opportunities and class presentations

• Reviewed and implemented changes to the Career Education Department’s website through use of Active Content Management system.• Worked with communications coordinator to develop strategic marketing plan for our department which included an array of events and other deliverables.• Assisted in the planning and development of career events to be held throughout the school year such as Job Fair, Accounting Night and Career Evening for first year students.• Headed the planning and development of a video testimonial series that highlighted student and employer successes in the workplace.• Produced dozens of different designs for promotional print material for the department.• Assisted in the content management of the Career Education social media accounts.
