Supported pilot plant start-up during initial stages to ensure products were run correctly during transition. - Supervised the scale-up of emulsion and solution polymers from lab scale to manufacturing scale, taking responsibility for ensuring that all batches were carried out to specifications, monitoring their progress, and making in-process adjustments as needed.- Tabulated, plotted, and interpreted data to deduce the effect of process parameters such as heat/mass transfer and agitation on product properties such as viscosity, particle size, and molecular weight. Worked closely with manufacturing, technical service, sales, and R&D to troubleshoot customer quality issues by investigating plant problems, determining root causes, and identifying process and procedure modifications to prevent similar incidents.- Taught several training sessions on scale-up and implemented the New Product Scale-up Team to address procedures and documentation for scale-ups to develop a protocol for scale-up of new products to manufacturing that was robust.
