- At the twice-weekly publication, circulating on Wednesday and Saturday, my responsibilities were vast. While editing both the education and business sections of the newspaper, I was responsible for writing all material (4 stories per issue; minimum), gathering photography for both print and web, planning layout from scratch drawings to InDesign final draft, and updating all information for my sections on the newspaper’s website. Keeping up with social media, i.e.: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, while covering stories in the community was also a must.- With three school districts in Summit County, including a handful of private and charter schools, my emphasis was on the Park City School District. Although my tenure at the newspaper was short, I was able to provide detailed coverage on the complex teacher-salary negotiations and the conclusion of the new superintendent search.- On the business side, I emphasized trends affecting local merchants, profiled new businesses and highlighted outstanding or unusual accomplishments. Of course, I had great interest in issues related to the ski and tourism industries, affordable housing, environmental initiatives and new technology – all with very local focus.

This included, checking reference materials, such as books, news files, or public records, to obtain relevant facts.- Revise work to meet editorial approval or to fit time or space requirements.- Discuss issues with editors to establish priorities or positions.- Collected and edited video of most interviews for the publications website.
