I remember when I first used a video camera to tell a story. When I was around nine or 10 years old, I picked up by parent’s video camera and filmed my stuffed animals as superheroes. Although I made the video as a birthday present for my grandmother, I felt a sense of enjoyment and excitement while making it. Capturing life from such a subjective and artistic point of view. It was when my videographer uncle offered to not only edit the video, but to create DVD’s of those videos as well, did I fully realize the abilities of video production. The edits, sound effects, digital effects and all, I knew at that moment that this was what I wanted to pursue.Soon after arriving at Oregon State University as a New Media Communications undergraduate student in Fall 2021, I found myself volunteering at KBVR-TV, OSU's student TV station. It was here where I was able to gain hands-on experience with professional-grade equipment, and the ability to construct and conduct live studio or remote broadcasts. After graduating with my BA in Digital Communication in Spring 2023, I am now working toward my MA in Communications. At the same time, I was offered a graduate assistant position for the Graduate School's marketing and communication. The position has taught me a lot about how to create interesting promotional material, how to coordinate with other departments across campus, and how to plan social media content. After I complete my MA degree in Spring 2025, my personal career goal is to enter the industry as a content creator, videographer or editor. My passions still are with video production, and I don't see that going away anytime soon.- Video Production: 10 years personal, 4 years professional experience planning, shooting, editing, and publishing video content.
