Responsible for the daily monitoring of the International Polar Orbiting Processing Package (IPOPP) production system running at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center's Direct Readout Laboratory (DRL). Developed procedures used to monitor the IPOPP production system including the creation of Bash shell scripts to automate the process. Responsible for ingest of Aqua and Terra satellite Direct Broadcast (DB) data into the IPOPP system. Working closely with corporate partners such as Orbital Systems ensuring that downlink antenna positioning hardware and software such as the EOS-FES and Quorum Multi-mission MODIS receivers are performing as necessary to avoid the loss of DB data. Acting as a liaison with external entities that provide ancillary data to ensure that data posted on the DRL's globally availably servers are timely and suitable for near real-time and subsequent re-processing product generation by the DRL's customers. Investigating anomalous system behavior such as perceived keyholes, and other anomalous data drop outs. Responsible for engaging facilities personnel to correct server room environmental issues. Testing DRL software such as IPOPP, Science Processing Algorithms (SPAs), and Simulcast prior to public release. Providing Linux and Windows system administration support to the DRL web master and other members of the project.
Provided support to the Code 606.3, Direct Readout Laboratory at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Responsible for the administration of Linux-based servers, workstations, Windows XP Professional, and Mac OS X desktops.
