The Campus Climate Action Corps is a Campus Compact/AmeriCorps program through which I am serving as a Climate Action Leader at St. Lawrence University's Center for the Environment. In this role, I will collaborate with student, local, and regional organizations on projects centered around energy efficiency, ecosystem health, and climate change education.

During my final semester at UNH, I worked as a Peer Mentor for a team of students as a part of the UNH Sustainability Institute's Climate Action Clinic. After spending the previous semester as a team member helping a client through their carbon accounting process, I took on role of peer mentor to a team of students. As a peer mentor, I led weekly team and client meetings, assisted with some of the more difficult data processing, and helped guide the students as they learned and worked on our client's carbon footprint goals.

I worked with students ages 4-14 in week long STEAM focused camps, using activities like LEGO building, basic programming, and team building to provide a fun, educational experience. In this role, it was important to understand the students needs and to communicate and adjust accordingly.

I worked with high school students, primarily from Portsmouth High School to prepare them to take the SATs. I helped students on both the Math and English sections, providing strategies and tips to help them improve their scores. I tutored groups of 4-10 students, which ensures a personal learning experience by answering specific questions and identifying and improving upon weaknesses.

Providing a relaxing, satisfactory experience for guests is very important to Sheraton Hotels, and it was my responsibility to ensure this experience for guests visiting the club lounge. I used great attention to detail to keep everything organized and clean, and attended to guests specific requests in a polite, timely manner.

After two years of working as a park staff member, I stepped into the manager role. As manager, I led a team of staff to maintain and supervise a popular beach/park over the summer. In addition to my leadership role, I had to organize scheduling, complete revenue forms, and communicate with guests with questions about the park. The job helped me practice multitasking, communication, and handling large responsibilities.

This was my first job and introduction to the workforce. As a Guest Advocate, I primarily worked as a cashier in the front, but I occasionally restocked and reorganized other parts of the store. Since it was during the holiday season, the job was very fast paced, and helping me learn to deal with rushing customers and long lines while maintaining a friendly disposition.
