I'm a deeply curious person. While I’ve loved music for as long as I can remember, that passion has pushed me to want to understand the nature of sound. How can sound convey so much meaning and information? How can sound cause people to have such an emotional, yet physical reaction? How can sound be processed and understood by a machine? These questions have taken me to the place where I am today. Having followed a somewhat unconventional path, I now want to combine my desire to create music with the technical experience I’ve gained while trying to answer these questions. The tools of data science and machine learning give us the ability to understand the patterns and rhythms that are present in all aspects of life. Applying this knowledge can allow us to solve problems that address many pressing issues in today’s world. Whether we’re trying to optimize a business, or we're building products that meet the demands of its users, we need to make use of both the technology that we have available to us and our knowledge of the things that really matter to people, like health, the ability to express ourselves clearly, and being able to laugh and appreciate beauty. I think the unique set of experiences that I’ve had have put me in a position where I can do both of these things. I am hoping that I can offer meaningful value to whomever I work with, and I’m excited to see what else I can learn and create.
