With more than twenty-five years in education and coaching, my experience ranges from developing and implementing curriculum and instruction, to facilitating department meetings and mentoring colleagues and student teachers. As a department chair for my team, I planned, coordinated and collaborated to execute grade-level events, developed itineraries and managed the budget and ordering for our department supplies. Expected to observe my team teachers in their classroom environment, I evaluated lesson delivery, then provided feedback while aiming to encourage, model, and guide the team toward our educational goals in this leadership role. Interpersonal skills and team collaboration were essential in establishing and maintaining a positive work environment and successful lesson planning and evaluation. Additionally, integration of technology was central to delivering engaging lessons in my classroom, and creating supplemental learning material and instructional tools became a necessary passion once we moved to online and hybrid learning situations throughout Covid restrictions. This experience proved to shape me into an even more innovative, flexible and tech-savvy educator, as I sought opportunities to provide meaningful learning experiences for my students by recreating engaging online lessons to allow learning to continue. In my most recent teaching experience, we were all Mac-based, but I have utilized PCs at home and am fluent using either. Finally, I am familiar with and confident in applying instructional design models in developing engaging, effective, age-appropriate learning content and have experience with utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360, Microsoft Office, and Google Drive.
