Alumet Systems (UK) Ltd is a specialist façade contractor in the manufacture and installation of curtain wall, rainscreen and Brise Soliel, dealing with many Top 100 main contractors such as BAM, Miller and Willmott Dixon.Since joining Alumet, I have been given the responsibility to oversee the surveying aspects of several contracts, varying in product and value from £50,000 to £6million, which briefly entails the pricing of variations, preparing monthly valuations, valuing sub-contractor applications and agreeing final accounts.I work closely with the Contracts Managers, especially in the negotiating and preparation of supply and fix, and fix only sub-contracts, ensuring that these are drawn up as close to any conditions imposed by the Main Contract.Whilst at Alumet I have attended the Confederation of Construction Specialists' diploma course, in which I achieved a pass rate of 95% and have been able to put in to practice a lot of what I learnt on this course.I am also responsible for compiling monthly reports consisting of applications raised, monies due, monthly gross profit and work in progress figures.A brief summary of my other responsibilities within this role are:Working closely with Contracts Managers, Project Managers, Drawing Office and Production to assist in the project being delivered within budgetReading and commenting upon sub-contract orders receivedChecking monthly fixers' invoices for authorisation by Contracts DirectorOverseeing Assistant Quantity Surveyor(s)In addition to the above I continue to attend external training courses in order to improve and update my knowledge and understanding of current legislation and standard forms of contract.

I worked for LCS since its inception in 2001 and was responsible for putting into place the administrative procedures for the company,which was an ongoing aspect of my position, as this required regular updates in keeping with altering and new procedures.
