RGDATA is the representative association for over 4,000 independent family owned grocery shops, convenience stores, forecourt stores and supermarkets in Ireland.As Communications Manager, I worked closely with the Board and Director General in developing & executing communications strategies and campaigns; conducting member & public opinion surveys and in establishing and maintaining relations with member shop-keepers; key opinion formers; politicians and various institutes of Government as well as with media and industry. Achievements include: - Co-ordinated early & final stages of 2007 annual members’ conference at Croke Park as part of a small team - the conference was attended by over 800 delegates. - Represented RGDATA on various Irish and European fora and by speaking at a number of high-profile conferences. - Lobbied and prepared pertinent documents for submission to Government relating to changes in legislation- Updated & modernised both the website and members’ magazine- Instigated, produced and wrote regular members’ newsletter; e-zine; press releases and industry articles.
