Overseeing several active clinical trials in the areas of schizophrenia, treatment-resistant depression, and suicidality. Manage study protocols, administer and score diagnostic, cognitive, behavioral, and affective assessments, and handle meticulous data collection and entry. Travel for investigator meetings to collaborate with other research sites on protocol implementation and participant recruitment and retention.

Worked approximately 15 hours a week at Eastway Behavioral Healthcare, a community mental health organization in Dayton, serving low-income populations with severe and persisitent mental illness. Collaborated with an LSW on diagnostic assessments and treatment planning, contributed to their Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team for high-risk clients by working with case managers to bring services to clients in the community, and assisted two psychiatric nurse practitioners in psychiatric evaluations and psychoative medication management.

Completed about 20 practicum hours per week at Nova Behavioral Healthcare, a residential treatment center specializing in drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Facilitated process and skills-based groups, conducted diagnostic and risk assessments, and engaged in one-on-one discussions about treatment goals and progress with clients. Worked under the supervision of two licensed AOD counselors, one of whom was a LISW.

LCOH features both adult short-term inpatient units—treating people experiencing suicidal ideation, psychosis, and/or disordered eating—and long-term residential units—treating people experiencing persistent depression and cluster B personality disorders without safety concerns, as well as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. I primarily worked on the inpatient units but occasionally worked on the residential units as well.
