Cole is working to develop a faster process inside the CAM department with an ultimate goal to reduce lead time using InCamPro.

Cole is a GTA for EE3173 (Hardware/Software System Integration) which covers testing a Nios II board with a combination of Quartus, Qsys, ARM and inline assembly, Cole is also a GTA for EE3171 (Microcontroller Applications) which covers beginning concepts for microcontroller-based systems using C, ARM assembly, and Keil uVision.

While on an internship, Cole was able to create a working capacitive touch demo using Renesas, SPI, and C++ to replace encoders on one of Millers machines. Cole also brainstormed and produced a functional prototype of an electronic parameter chart in C++ which will reduce the manufacturing cost of all future welding machines.

Cole worked with students in Computer Engineering using programs such as Quartus, Qsys, and AMP (Altera Monitor Program) to run on a Nios ii board using C and inline assembly programming languages.

Cole helps students with circuitry, programming the DE2-115 using Quartus II 14.0, and understanding how to transform logic gates into circuitry.

Cole helps students in the Electric and Computer Engineering department with homework, or any other questions they may have.

During his Co-op at Emerson, Cole helped revitalize old code, and designed new code through C#, GNU Octave, MATLAB, Arduino, and VBA. Cole also designed a circuit to communicated with an Emerson drive using an Arduino UNO, and the MODBUS Protocol. Cole also helped write/edit technical documentation for Emerson products, and documentation for internal data analysis programs.

Cole helped students with circuitry, circuit building using programs such as Eagle and NI Multisim, soldering, programming the DE2-115 using Quartus II 14.0, and understanding how to transform logic gates into circuitry.
