A survey course designed to familiarize individuals with the application of computer technologies and information science in biomedicine and health science. Participants are introduced to the conceptual and technical components of biomedical informatics. The conceptual components include principles of database design, human-computer interfaces, medical terminologies and coding systems, medical decision analysis methods, clinical information systems architectures, and methods for measuring costs and benefits in health care systems. The technical components include use of the Internet for biomedical applications, current and emerging wide area network technologies, use of literature and molecular sequence databases, and systems for telemedicine.

▪ The CPH Chair is responsible for supporting three coordinators as they complete projects towards the committee’s goals. The Chair will function as a supportive and administrative team member to advance the committee’s goals, as well as furthering AMSA’s mission and aspirations. ACPM was established in 1954 and are engaged in preventive medicine practice, teaching, and research in both clinical medicine and public health.- Collaberated witht he American Medical Student Assocation to create joint ventures including nation wide projects and workshop learning opportunities for medical students interested in preventive medicine.
