I am currently employed as a Computer Science Teacher at British International School HCMC. With the exception of my current role I have led a department and staff since 2004. I have experience of every type of ICT and CS qualification both academic and vocational. I also have IB experience leading a class through Information Technology in a Global Society (ITGS) and having input into the CS IB curriculum. I have an outstanding track record in academic achievement. My last cohorts were in CIE iGCSE ICT and Computer Science. Even with the recent turmoil in exams due to Covid-19, in Computer Science I was delighted with all grades being A and A*. The ICT grades were equally as pleasing, as every child exceeded their target grade with the majority being A*. The C grade that was scored by one student was the most pleasing though as it enabled him to move onto the next stage of his life. Success has a different meaning to every child, and these successes should be celebrated equally. I have used the time gained from the move back into the classroom full time to develop my skills in STEAM and physical computing, adding new skills to my toolkit and I have begun to roll them out wherever is appropriate. Travelling recently has been challenging, of that there is no doubt. We have as a family enjoyed the experience though, broadening our horizons and seeing new sites. We are looking for new challenges and experiences that we can enjoy together.
