The UK Research Centre for Non-Destructive Evaluation (RCNDE) is an EPSRC-sponsored collaboration between industry and academia to coordinate research into NDE technologies, and to ensure research topics are relevant to the medium to longer-term needs of industry. RCNDE is founded on the guiding principles of world-class scientific research and industrial application. The Centre’s vision is to see NDE transform into a fully integrated part of the engineering life cycle and the aim is to progressively link up with other disciplines, particularly structural integrity, materials science and engineering design.In my role as RCNDE Technology Director I am seeking opportunities to facilitate the transfer of technologies from the laboratory and into the field where they can start to add value to industry and society in general.

The services that Uniper Technologies can provide are essentially a continuation of those from the previous E.ON Technologies.

Back to the UK as Section Manager of NDT delivering a wide range of services to a large range of customers.

Spent two years in California acting as the interface between Powergen and EPRI on a wide range of topics: from NDT to combustion, and electric vehicles to gas turbines. Someone had to do it.

After privatisation of the UK power industry I moved to the newly formed Powergen Technology Centre near Nottingham. Here we set up a customer-focused, commercial NDT service to power plants throughout the UK and around the world.

Joined the power industry in the CEGB South West Region, working on a wide range of Non-Destructive Testing problems for nuclear and conventional plants, generation to distribution.
