Airport Security Manager course(Level 3) completed, incorporated Customer Care,Team Building, Managing Attendance, Performance Management plus other Management/HR related subjects. Involved in organisation/implementation of Covert Testing at other airports within the HIAL group. Involved in internal investigations and discipline procedures.

5 years as a Uniform Beat and Patrol Officer in West Belfast, gained a solid grounding in teamwork, report writing and investigations.4 years as a member of a Counter Terrorism unit working exclusively in West Belfast during the height of the “Troubles”. Was a team leader of a sub section within the unit. Worked closely with other agencies within the Counter Terrorism Community. Had specialized weapon/anti ambush/public order and conflict resolution training. Intelligence gathering was key. 7 years as Uniform Beat and Patrol Specialist in Larne. Led investigations in to crimes such as serious assaults, thefts, public order and serious road traffic accidents. 3 years running the Communication Command and Control Centre at Larne Station, an area of approximately 300 square miles. Responsible for dealing with emergency and response. Managed all integrated systems including IT, telecom and communications required to assist police on the ground. Was the sole point of contact in relation to any serious incident, responsible for the initial police response, deploying resources effectively and liaison with other agencies.7 years Town Beat/Neighbourhood Patrol Officer in Larne. Responsible for an immediate drop in petty crime and disorder in the town center by taking ownership of the problem. Responsible for the monitoring of a number of sex offenders, required a high level of confidentiality and integrity.Have mentored/coached staff in relation to procedures, developing necessary skills, local knowledge and orientation.Had to prepare written reports/prosecution files to the highest standards. These resulted in giving evidence in Crown Court, High Court and Magistrates court, resulting in terrorist and criminal convictions.Highly Commended twice and Commended on four other occasions for good police work whilst a serving Police Officer. Awarded the Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, RUC (George Cross) Service Medal and Queens Jubilee Medal.
