Experienced in a range of fusion splicers such as Fujikura 22s, 60s & 70s, Sumitomu T71, Fitel 123 & 178 and Inno View 7 machines. Joining cables using variety of mechanical splices. • Confirm performance and characterisation of fibre systems using insertion loss measurement techniques with smart light source and power meters (Exfo max-tester) and OTDR’s. • Proficient in E-side, D -side connectivity and qualified in install cabling systems.• Install and terminate copper cabling (Cat 5, 5e, 6a and Co-axial) with a variety of interconnection devices and connector types.• LAN Permanent link/channel testing with Level 3 LAN Testers (Fluke DTX-1800).• Experience working on various communication systems, operating HF, VHF, SHF and satellite communications equipment from aerials to user interface with associated security devices • City & Guilds 3667-02 Unit 101 Basic Principles of Communications Cabling• City & Guilds 3667-02 Unit 104 Copper Cabling in an Internal Environment • City & Guilds 7540-13 Level 3 Certificate in ICT Systems and Principles• Unit 042 - Telecommunications Principles• Unit 226 - Fibre optic cabling in an external environment & air blown fibre• Unit 370 – Voice & Data Communications • Full Clean Driving License• First Aid Trained• Security Cleared until 2029• Level 2 Customer Service.• European Computer Drivers Licence level 2• GCSE C and aboveo Maths.o Chemistry.o Physics.o English.
