This role was centered around on-boarding applications and development teams to our Canvas PaaS platform. The Canvas platform is Pivotal Cloud Foundry running on Amazon Web Services IaaS. I was one of the team leaders in the Glasgow Mobile Applications team, developing smartphone applications for the various lines of business in BT. I developed a white-label app for Communication Provider customers of BT Wholesale, and also delivered a new BT Wi-Fi app for BT Retail. The team also developed a suite of apps for BT Openreach engineers to use on iPhones that assist them with their day to day job of fixing BT's network.

I work as a Solution Designer in the Retail Trouble to Resolve area. I do end to end design for the systems and processes that support customers when they phone in with a problem on their WLR3 PSTN service or Broadband. The main aim of this is to fix customers faults Right First Time and as quickly as possible.My job mainly involves initially impacting requests from BT Retail to estimate the cost and effort involved to improve the systems that support resolving problems on WLR3 and BB. I then work with component designers and E2E test teams to produce an E2E design that meets the agreed customer requirements.

In this job I did solution design for BT's mobile service for business customers. Worked on lots of projects here but the main one was doing the provisioning and billing design for BT Corporate Fusion Net which should be launching very shortly. So basically that the customer is able to order the product via BT's systems stack and also that they are billed correctly for their usage of the product. Also did a bit of busness process design and systems integration and operational readiness testing which was not my job!
