Key role in promoting a positive QHSE culture and engaging colleagues through leading by example. Continually improving the management system to meet changing requirements and recommend improvements to the UK system.Primary auditor for extensive schedule of fifty annual entries including various technical assessments, local vertical audits, UK assurance audits, client audits, and third-party assessments. External assessments include requirements for BSI, UKAS, FPAL, LRQA, and SEPA. Training coordination for auditing team of twenty to maintain requirements of our substantial schedule. Maintain EASR registration and SEPA licences in cooperation with the Radiation Protection Supervisor to comply with HSE legislation. Steward incident and non-conformance, including customer complaint, investigation to ensure appropriate analysis for root cause, extent, impact, and that all corrective or preventive actions implemented.Lead periodic monthly and annual QHSE management meetings with the appropriate stakeholders to produce minutes and action plans. Maintain monthly QHSE Key Performance Indicators for the Aberdeen sites and drive performance through setting clear expectations. Coordinate appropriate risk, COSHH and environmental assessments as required including support of task or staff specific risk assessments such as those for vulnerable persons. Ownership of emergency response processes and training including drills for fire, gas, spill, and lone working. Key emergency coordinator in the event of an unplanned emergency response to liaise with the emergency services.

I was successful in moving to the QHSE Supervisor role and work with the incumbent QHSE Manager; with a view to succeed them as they moved into a different position within the company. This involved an extensive QHSE training programme over the first year of the position to effectively manage the department for the second year onward. I gained the title of QHSE Manager after successfully completing the second year with improved site performance, culture, and simplification of various aspects of the management system.

Broad scope of responsibilities involved as an offshore projects and rotation supervisor for the Field Services Department of Intertek. Shared line manager responsibilities to large group of offshore chemists from a team of 65 split between 2 deputy and 1 lead supervisors. The role involved the selection of suitable chemists for client requirements based on their availability, experience, and training. Providing training to ensure the continuing competence of existing chemists and that new personnel mobilised offshore were competent in appropriate core skills. Working in partnership with human resources regarding personnel issues such as medevacs and absence for such a substantial team. Management of departmental financial requirements including issue of quotations, client invoicing, and processing of staff payroll for overtime and offshore allowance. Primary trainer in the Oil in Water and Offshore Sampling courses for Intertek chemists and external client delegates. I continued to be occasionally required to mobilise offshore to provide chemist cover as a backup to rotational colleagues. Continued involvement with internal audits such as test method assessments and site safety tours.

Responsible for assisting the Senior Chemist in day to day running of the Production Chemistry and Environmental departments of the laboratory. Ensuring all analysis was performed to the highest standards conforming to IP, ASTM, and in-house CBA methodologies. Main duties included the packing and distribution of regulatory biannual produced water sampling kits to various platforms in the North Sea and the analysis of returned samples by GCMS. Continued involvement with internal audits such as test method assessments and site safety tours.

Rotation chemist on the Gryphon FPSO and Scott platform. Key production position responsible for the offshore laboratory monitoring of plant processes through routine sampling, analysis, and reporting. Experience with controlling plant chemical stock, chemical bunkering, injection rates, cargo offloads and potable water checks. As a platform chemist I gained a good understanding of plant process systems and how they interact. Gryphon muster checker responsible for the crew assigned to my station and communication with the control room during a planned muster or emergency response.

Competent in various production chemistry analysis and experience with pressurised hydrocarbon sampling using Proserv and PIMR cylinders. Frequently involved in troubleshooting plant process issues in partnership with Operations. Scale Squeeze Operations assisting the pumping crew to ensure correct dosage of selected chemicals applied. Flow back sampling undertaken, and final data and report supplied to client on completion of sampling regime. Regular chemist cover at Apache’s SAGE terminal in St. Fergus responsible for the onshore laboratory monitoring of plant processes through routine sampling, analysis, and reporting. This work was primarily based in the North Sea however gained experience of international activities in a fuel gas sampling investigation in Equatorial Guinea.
