Short term assignment to cover specific sourcing exercises relating to satellite telemetry, tracking & control and IoT application platform in support of new customer sales proposition

Initially engaged to conduct a competitive market exercise covering Inmarsat's global IT end user hardware requirements. This resulted in the award of a single global contract to the preferred supplier. Following this, my contract was extended a number of times and my role expanded to cover satellite products, associated network infrastructure as well as support functions such as customer contact centres, payment platforms and ISP's. I also led the procurement activity covering deployment of satellite equipment in India, to support the launch of new product propositions in this region.

Have worked in various procurement roles throughout BT from Engineering network services, engineering materials, e.g. cable, cabinets, network connectors to current role in Consumer devices & services. This incorporates new products sourcing our broadband, tv and high street sales propositions as well as the associated service contracts. My team also deal with print and bulk mail services to support our direct marketing, point of sale material, billing, directories and employee/shareholder services.Procurement is at the forefront of BT's strategic programmes, helping to ensure we have the right supplier partnerships in place to deliver the products and services to support our market propositions. In today's increasingly competitive environment, procurement's role in the company is recognised as key.
