From training in one of Europe's most sought-after addiction treatment clinics in 2000, to walking through the doors of the sparsely furnished and quite smelly Beth Rapha in the Gangland district of Observatory in Cape Town, to the closing of our doors of Bethesda in 2020 - never a moment went by when I wasn't assessing how I can improve and how I can develop what we do.For 19-years I had been adding to, taking away from, increasing qualifications, dismissing, hiring, training, mentoring and trying to build a multi-cultural socially and economically friendly platform, upon which individuals, families and communities and could receive what we have and who we are.As Bethesda's doors closed in April 2020, ... 'out of the blue' ... I was contacted by Nick Dreyer, an internationally respected entrepreneur and CEO of Veldskoen Shoes based in South African. Nick's opening line to me was; 'Colin we love what you are doing. We can build you a platform to take your programme all over the world". With Nick and his team behind us, we have now expanded into offering Online Addiction Treatment & Education, all around the world on www.ehab.healthcare

By 2003, the previously mentioned Beth Rapha (House of Healing) had become widely known and extremely popular. We attracted the support of local businesses and became a registered charity.By 2005 I had completely detached and together with my wife Deanna, a South Africa Law Graduate, we launched The Bethesda Addiction Treatment Clinic in Storms River Village on South Africa's Route. With the help of Beth Rapha graduates, between 2005 and 2020, Bethesda became internationally recognised and highly sought-after as a primary treatment clinic.In April of 2021, Bethesda became a Covid-19 casualty and we closed our doors.

Development and Application of a contextually relevant Substance Abuse and Chemical Dependency Education and Recovery Education in a residential. From 2001 to 2005, from personal experience of private sector treatment (Priory Clinic & Pierpoint House in UK), I introduced the essence of the 28-day treatment programme. From within our broken community, I identified and nurtured men into roles of leadership.Between 2003 and 2005, I focused on drifting into the back-ground and allowing the guys to adopt and adjust the programme. Beth Rapha went on to influence some of South Africa's most severely broken men and families until its closure in 2019. Graduates of the Beth Rapha experience went on and are still employed in many addiction treatment clinics across South Africa, Africa and Europe.

Under the direct mentorship of Rev. Vic Jackopson (M.B.E), President of Hope Now International Ministries. We used HOPE as our acronym for Hospitals, Orphanages, Prisons and Evangelism. Our role was to try and help children who had been born with Cleft Pallet and Hairlip, most of whom had consequently been Orphaned. We raised funds to send them to UK & USA for facial reconstruction surgery and adoption - with astounding results. My main role was to head-up International Prison Evangelism, with offices in England, America, Ukraine & South Africa. When I came to South Africa in 2001, the size of the addiction problem disturbed me to the extent that I chatted to my leaders, and resigned to get involved with the addicted and their families.
