Amador Valley High School student with a Junior year GPA of 4.7 and an overall GPA of 4.2. I have taken many advanced science classes such as AP Biology, AP Psychology, and Honors Human Biology. I also have participated in drama since 7th grade and I am in Creatures of Impulse, an award-winning teen improv troupe therefore I am comfortable speaking in front of large crowds. I have my Certified Nursing Assistant and Basic Life Support/CPR License which includes 100 hours of work in a Nursing Home. I regularly housesit and dogsit over some weekends. I also have designed and created social media posts for the Summiting Group. During COVID I got bored and I started learning Greek, and eventually German as well, on Duolingo. I am CEFR level A1 in Greek and I have visited Greece twice. Language is such a powerful tool to connect with people, as whenever I spoke Greek to a native they were excited that I took the time to try to learn Greek. I am learning German online through Apex Virtual High School and I am level CEFR level B1. I started learning German because my mother speaks it and I have visited Germany twice as well. In 5th grade, my parents took me out of school to travel around the world and we spent 3 months in South America. We started in Guatemala where we did a 2 week Spanish immersion class. Although it has been a while since I have spoken it, I am still CEFR Level A1 and I can understand a lot more than I can speak. Volunteering is very important to me; I am a Red Cross Blood donor and I was a member of a BTC, a teenaged volunteer group, for 4 years. I also mentor and teach a Ukrainian student English weekly via ENGin and at the beginning of the war, my family went to Poland and I was involved in purchasing and delivering supplies to a Ukrainian Refugee camp and orphanage. On my trip around the world I co-taught art class for a week at a local school in Rwanda and on delivered school supplies to a remote school in Peru I have been fortunate enough to be able to travel to 40 countries and 6 continents (all but Oceania). In 5th grade my parents took me out of school for the year and we traveled around the world; we traveled through 32 countries in South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. I have hiked the Lares Valley Trail to Machu Picchu, reaching 15,000ft of elevation and I am training for a 19,000ft hike up Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa.
