About Colin Grant

I'm a Java / C++ Software Developer with over 30 years of experience. I am currently working as a freelance developer which I started doing in 2011 after my eldest son was born. I've been mainly working on financial trading systems using Java SDK. This has involved writing REST API services and communicating with banks using the FIX Trading protocol. At home I've recently become interested in physical computing and robotics, entering a robot competition with the family that we won at an intermediate level. This has inspired me to start an Open University Degree course in Computing and Electronic Engineering. I am currently looking at Job opportunites either local to Hertfordshire, or Remote / Hybrid since my children are still at school.
