I am Responsible for the development, delivery, and Operations, of a comprehensive cyber security strategy and Program of work that optimizes the cyber security posture of Fletcher Building and across the portfolio of companies.

Responsible for leading the overall cyber security strategy and direction within VFNZ, through development, maintenance and refresh of the five year strategy and architectural roadmap. Transforming the cyber security capability towards a full partner market capability to support the VFNZ corporate environments. Developing the separation plans for VFNZ’s move to Partner Market, and drive the delivery of the new security operating environment. Research best practice to ensure Vodafone New Zealand has a seamless security ecosystem that it can showcase to customers.Participating and leading workstreams in the development of the Security Strategy in association with the broader company strategy process while managing Architecture review boards and governance forums.Providing security thought leadership and architecture roadmaps for Vodafone NZ with a focus on all security risks, and working with the Practice Heads on resourcing to close them down. Responsible for ensuring the future risk, and operational requirements for VFNZ in terms of end to end security are effectively covered and developed through the transformation journey and strategy, as well as driving forward any global strategic integration programs within VFNZ.Champion development and uptake of new capability to ensure VFNZ is seen as an innovation leader in the cyber security marketplace.

In this role I am still working on global security strategy for Vodafone, but as part of the cyber security transformation I have also taken a regional leadership role as Head of Cyber Security for the AMAP region. The AMAP region consist of Africa, Middle East, and Asia Pacific which sees me providing leadership and governance over Vodafone's cyber security interests in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Lesotho, DRC, Kenya, Ghana, Qatar, Egypt, and India.

In this new role I continue to provide leadership and ownership over the strategy and direction for security across the whole of Vodafone NZ and its products as the local market CSO. I am also now reporting into the Global Technology Security Director as a member of the global security leadership team, with the responsibility of shaping Vodafone’s global security strategy, technology roadmap, and priorities.

Previously known as the Chief Technology Security Officer my role has expanded and is now the Head of Security for Vodafone New Zealand. I am responsible for end to end security elements across the entire business including technology, Consumer, and Enterprise customer offerings, physical security, security operations and corporate security functions, while managing any local technology risks. With a split reporting line I am responsible to both the local market, and Vodafone Group Headquarters in Newbury, UK. I hold accountability for the security budgets (Both Capex and Opex), while ensuring all local initiatives and programs are securely implemented within policy and any risks are actively managed. I am working closely with Vodafone Group Technology Security on deploying global initiatives into the local market along with the security baseline controls. I am also responsible for managing security operations in the region (not just within NZ) through liaison with our Global Security Operations Centre and local operational groups. I developed not only the local security strategy, but also the enterprise security strategy and the development of the new cyber security operations centre strategy for enterprise customers. As such I am called on to meet with Exec’s from a number of our customers to discuss the security landscape and provide thought leadership around security offerings.I act as the point of contact within our local market for security, responding to media enquires or communicating with business partners, government, and clients. I have also been a guest speaker/presenter at local and international conferences and events on a wide range of topics, some as far away as Dublin.I am part of both the local market Senior Leadership Team, providing the voice of security at the Exec level, and the global Vodafone security community, while also working closely with both the local and group corporate security teams to address any joint security challenges.
