Currently self employed working, for PSG services as the planning HOD, for project lightning at Virgin Media. After the end of my contract with BT Global I moved back to the UK to working on New Developments on the HFC Network. I was quickly asked to support the delivery of a project, supporting PSG on tight deadlines for delivery of 10,000 homes, over 2 months, which we completed. Recently implementing and supporting a new team within Virgin Media. I have been writing new process’s, streamlining the delivery of work, writing user guides, attending conference calls, providing new ideas, training staff, working with internal and external customers, for new residential developments. This has progressed into me undertaking another role in new development for business. It is a new process within Virgin to support and get on board with all business developments at the beginning. As a blank canvas we have been asked to use our planning experience to develop a new process, track good and bad points we come across, with a view to write a process flow and ready to bring on a team for this to be used.

Planning and design of GPON FTTH networks for Barbados and Cayman Island.Responsible for full design of GPON network including, issuing job packs and bills of materials, liaising with the client LIME/C&W and BT project management. My responsibilities have extended into a key role in the development and implementation of the BTNetdesign software from a planning perspective and proposed spine cable routes across the Island to serve FTTH

• Provide detailed fibre, copper, RF, power and civils solutions to control and enhance network capacity.• Maintain Network Records(Network Inventory).Work with local councils, private developers and other utility companies with designs works, in accordance with all legal and statutory requirements.Representing Planning in contractor and internal meetings.All aspects of planning to extend the network increasing the size network/business including multi dwelling units, new homes, business parks and single business extensions.Undertake internal and external site surveys.Attend meetings with councils, private developers and other utility companies to offer to offer solutions regarding on site works.Assist internal customers and contractors during network damages and outages.Liaise with external customers on project management to ensure targets and timescales are met.Provide transmission (switch) solutions for new/re-designed equipment and customers services.

Planning for Business Networks (currently) but have also done Transmission and Diversionary Planning

My current roles and responsibilities include maintaining and updating fibre schematic drawings and ODF records for the Virgin Media Network. Software packages that are used to aid this are Microsoft office, Auto CAD, Field view, Gcomms and Visio. I have assisted in the audits of ODF’s and splice joints and the infrastructure to all of Virgin Media Network.By locating the nearest joint/cabinet locations, I have assisted operations/tech engineers during copper, fibre and RF investigations/installs. This also includes any outages when diversionary works are involved. I am involved in the designing and development of new extensions for CATV/Telco services which involves meetings with site engineers and on site inspectors. I have to negotiate with contractors to ensure a smooth change over/install is achieved at all times. My main duties included, business planning, Business or Major Projects, which involved liaising with a wide range of business customers using detailed site surveys to ensure a smooth install of business circuits. This includes planning new civils and internal routes for cabling work. I plan for business customers, for the install of analogue/centrex lines, DPNSS, DASS, ISDN, Q931, 2mb circuits, IPVPN, MIA, MEVPN, EVPN, DHCS, HCS, EE, EE+ & National Ethernet ranging from 10mb-10Gig and dark fibre.I was in a secondment role at Virgin Media from March 2013 – October 2013 as a Planning Improvements Coach. This involved, looking at customers journey, process and delivery methods and how we can improve best delivery to customers. The entailed talking to internal departments, keep clear concise communications, and look on how any change will impact people in the work place but ensuring we keep up with our delivery to improve installs and quality of records/looking after the network.
