I am a cloud solution architect, specializing in platform and infrastructure design and migration to OCI and AWS. Architecting solutions based on a range of cloud services (IaaS, Containers, Serverless, PaaS, DbaaS and SaaS). I have around 30 years’ experience of architecting and delivering enterprise applications and the underpinning infrastructure and services. I have worked across a range of sectors - banking and financial services, retail, telecommunications, public sector, education and NGO’s.I am currently a Principal Engineer at NatWest working on Oracle Cloud (OCI, Saas and Paas) and AWS. Working in areas such as architecture and engineering standards. In my previous role as a Cloud Architect in the Vodafone UK Cloud Centre of Excellence, I was instrumental in defining design standards, security frameworks and connectivity solutions for AWS, OCI and GCP cloud deployments.Prior to this, as a Cloud Solution Architect for Oracle Consulting, I designed and implemented projects to lift and shift existing workloads (E-Business Suite, Fusion Middleware etc) to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and also implemented a range of Cloud Services. I also worked on customer projects involving integrating cloud services and on-premise systems with the Oracle SaaS products – HCM and ERP cloud.I was a Principal Technical Architect and Application DBA for more than 20 years, working mainly on PeopleSoft implementations and associated components for Oracle Consulting and previously PeopleSoft Consulting. I worked on a wide range of customers implementation projects, including large, global HR and ERP implementations, providing high availability architecture design, technical advice and guidance and performance tuning/testing consultancy. I also provided architectural services such as road-mapping and also advice and guidance in areas such as product selection, security assessments, environment and maintenance plans. Platforms include Linux, a range of UNIX flavours, Windows platforms and the Oracle Database and SQL Server.I have been delivering performant and scalable solutions to large and medium size customers since 1997.
