Provide Technical support and advice on Rolling Stock maintenance, maintenance management, maintenance planning, Supply Chain management, and Project management.

Responsible for ensuring that the required levels of labour; plant; and equipment were available so that the Rolling Stock Collisions and Heavy Repair teams could safely deliver high-quality Rolling Stock Collision repairs and Heavy repairs within Budget, to contribute to the achievement of the Availability & Reliability KPI’s and overall Asset performance.

Responsible for ensuring that the required levels of labour; plant; and equipment were available so that the Rolling Stock Heavy Maintenance team could safely deliver high-quality Rolling Stock Heavy Maintenance Overhaul and Repair activities within Budget, to contribute to the achievement of the Availability & Reliability KPI’s and overall Asset performance.

Responsible for providing the Rolling Stock Heavy Maintenance team with technical; financial; quality; and materials management support to ensure that the Rolling Stock Heavy Maintenance Department was able to meet its service delivery obligations.I was also responsible for the Project Management and delivery of the Rolling Stock Heavy Overhauls Program: Bogie overhaul works; major Electrical works; and the B2 class Tram Hydro Unit overhaul.

Responsible for developing transformational initiatives that improved the efficiency and effectiveness of the Rolling Stock Maintenance Department including, facilitating a shift from a centralised maintenance regime to a decentralised maintenance regime, and managing the timely delivery of key strategic Capital Works Projects that aligned with the transformational activities which included major upgrades of the existing Rolling Stock Maintenance Depots, and the redevelopment of the Heavy Maintenance Facility at Preston, in line with Lean principles.

Responsible for managing the Rolling Stock Maintenance department, which was comprised of 14 direct reports (Professional Engineers, supervisors & clerical staff) and 141 indirect staff (Tradespersons & non-Tradespersons), located at 9 sites across Melbourne, and with an annual budget of approximately $40 million to ensure that the maintenance of the Tram Fleet was performed in an efficient and cost-effective manner and that the maintenance services that were delivered, resulted in the provision of a safe and reliable fleet of Trams with optimal levels of fleet availability.

Responsible for:• the development of the Rolling Stock Management Plan, Annual Maintenance Plan, and Infrastructure Annual Works Plan and ensuring that the tram fleet and infrastructure assets would meet customer and community expectations; and that the maintenance activities that were undertaken, and Asset performance levels attained, met contractual requirements.• developing and managing Asset Management systems and Project Management of the major Tram Fleet Overhaul Project; including the establishment of Commercial Contracts for the repair and maintenance of all Major Rotable items associated with the Tram Fleet Overhaul Project.I also managed the Logistics and Planning functions for the Rolling Stock Maintenance and Infrastructure Maintenance areas whilst ensuring compliance with safety systems and quality systems.

Responsible for the strategic planning and costing of maintenance activities for the M>Tram - Tram fleet and the management of the logistics and procurement activities to support the maintenance of the M>Tram - Tram fleet.
