About Colin Lowe

I have been a crewman at Blackpool Lifeboat station for twenty two years. Having taught lifeboat men and women at the lifeboat college in Poole I decided to gain more experience offshore so joined vector offshore and BPs project jigsaw as an Autonomous Resue & Recovery Craft commander in the North sea, this involved launching and recovering a 19mtr rescue vessel from a purpose built supply ship in seas upto 7mtrs, After the birth of my son I decided that working month on and month off was too long away from home so I moved to Osiris Projects as a Master for a 28mtr survey vessel, this took me around the country surveying various sites towing sonar arrays, magnetometers, hydrophones etc.I am now the Master of UMOE Firmus a 27mtr Surface Effect Ship, built for the Windfarm industry capable of 40plus knots.
