As a product manger I am tasked with coordinating the production of new products from inception through market release; sourcing raw materials, cost analysis, working with engineers, manufacturing, purchasing, sales, marketing and management to put out the best product possible in the most timely fashion. I work closely with every department to ensure every member of the team is well acquainted with our products in development, especially sales so they can be prepared when the products reach the market. As the Smart Track Manager I am in charge of our inventory compliance tracking program that we offer to our customers. I create policy for handling all technical and customer service calls. I manage supplies and inventory for the accessories we offer. I coordinate and negotiate purchase agreements with suppliers of the accessories. I coordinate with our developer on small and large updates to the system. I also work with marketing and sales to make sure we are presenting a unified message about the service and growing our user base as much as we can.

I started as a packager where I was responsible for making sure the beer made it into bottles and kegs while ensuring the highest quality standards.I was then promoted to Packaging Shift Lead where I had a team of three packagers. I was responsible for maintaining a strict schedule, ensuring the highest quality standards and supervising all of the tasks the team was meant to perform.I was then promoted to Cellarman. As a Cellarman I was responsible for everything that happens to the beer between brewing and packaging. This included dry hopping, racking to barrels, adding ingredients, racking our of barrels, transferring from tank to tank, preparing for packaging, taking samples and logging fermentation data, cleaning everything involved with any of these processes, etc.

Digital multimedia author. Charged with creating graphics for print, web and marketing collateral. Also, as the company moves more towards multimedia (video, podcasting, motion graphics, etc.) I am an integral part in this process. I am in charge of the filming, audio recording, still photography, motion graphics creation and editing on Final Cut Pro.

In the span of 6 months, I went from not knowing the first thing about cattle or the dairy industry to being in charge of 60–80 calves. I was charged with feeding, diagnosing, treating and maintaining the calves born daily on the dairy, as well as the certified artificial insemination of grown cows and heifers every day.

I was an on-call at the Jimmy Kimmel Live! Field Production Department. My duties included such responsibilities as crowd control during on-location shoots, coordinating the actors in preparation for shoots, recruiting people off the street to participate in live bits and generally aiding in the coordination of multiple departments to insure the smooth running of a hit late-night talk show.

My last year as a full-time college student I started what I thought would be a natural transition into the professional world of graphic design and began working as a freelance designer. During that period I took over thirty design jobs, most of them branding and corporate identity-type jobs for small upstart businesses. For the entire span of that time I worked with the California Association for Healthcare Quality executing the design and layout for their quarterly e-journal, several brochures and their bi-annual healthcare conference syllabi. In 2009 I also rebranded the MacGregor & Berthel law firm and designed a Flash website for them (www.macgregorlaw.com).Working as a freelancer provided me invaluable professional experience. I gained an unparalleled ability to interact with clients, whether it was clearly communicating my design ideas to them or aiding them in clear communication of their thoughts and opinions to me. I am also a highly organized person, which aided in my timely delivery of finished designs. Also, working with a wide variety of clientele (high-end hairdresser, law firm, healthcare corporation, business consulting firm, private high school, etc.) forced me to be ever-adaptable, a quality I feel is imperative in today’s design world.

As a prepress technician, I prepped files for print, and as a printing technician I worked on a Goss 4-color web offset press printing the actual newspaper. This proved to be very useful for me as a designer, because I learned fi rsthand the complications that can occur down the line if a designer does not take into account the production aspects and printing process used during output.

For the summer of 2005, I worked there in the capacity of order fulfillment. My duties included going through the warehouse and locatingitems from several orders and then packing them up for shipping.
