Community FacilitatorCumas New Ross Dec 2013 - Aug 2017New Ross, Co. WexfordStarting a new role in 2013 which provided more opportunities to be involved in projects working as part of a three person team. The new role focused on accessing more community integration and allowed me to work in a different way with more people, supporting the relationship between the facilitator and the individual they supported. My role now also allowed me to be more involved in the change project in the organisation and attend six weekly project review meetings, while also organising events to maximise relations with people in the community, like the Open Day held in June 2014 as part of the promotion of the organisation's new name, Cumas New Ross. In house, Cumas started holding Individuals Days, used to communicate information and also gather crucial feedback to direct the future activities required. I contributed greatly to preparing for and presenting at these events and collected and analysed any feedback gathered. We also held family evenings, inviting families in for a review of the current organisational progress, which I prepared for and presented at too. As Community Facilitator, I support the relationship between the Individual and their Facilitator and ensure that the Person Centered Plan (PCP) remains crucial to the direction the Individual wants to take their life. This is done through monthly PCP reviews with over 30 people, monitoring the progress being made while offering support to the employee in their approach to their facilitation. In 2016, through my interest in fostering Employee Engagement, I organised and promoted the HSE Staff Survey within the organisation. I also became a member of the Health & Safety Committee as Safety Representative, making representations on behalf of the committee to management on safety matters and led the creation of an action plan to promote the image of the organisation which will take place in 2017, through social media and face-to-face communications with the community.

It AdministratorCumas New Ross Oct 2008 - Aug 2017New Ross, Co. WexfordCurrently responsible for IT Administration within my role as Community Facilitator at Cumas New Ross.In 2008, I took on more responsibility within the IT function in the organisation, which included maintenance, sourcing and purchasing of products, overall responsibility for the repair and troubleshooting of IT issues across all premises, correcting accounts and payroll issues resulting from IT sources, social media, company email and website creation. In 2013, as part of a relocation of the main premises, through temporary and permanent new premises, I was responsible for planning and coordinating the new network and telephone infrastructure in the organisation, including installation of hardware and liaising with contractors on site. In 2014, I supervised two WIT students designing a framework for our new website, meeting with them daily and assigning them duties. The website was then populated by a team I led internally, with a variety of members, being involved in the completion of the website, which was launched on 4th April 2016. In July 2015, I was responsible for planning and coordinating the installation of a new server in the Butlersland premises and working with the contractor to complete the migration.

Facilitator/TrainerCo. Wexford Community Workshop (New Ross) Ltd./Cumas New Ross Oct 1999 - Dec 2013New Ross, Co. WexfordI starting out doing casual work in the Sheltered Occupation section as a Student from 1999, including woodworking, sewing and trophy making while also offering assistance with IT related problems. In 2004, I began delivering Preparation for Work and Work Experience modules to the Individuals being Supported, to assist with employment opportunities. In 2006, I began also delivering the Independent Living Skills and Self Advocacy modules which were beneficial in helping the learner develop skills to enable them to become more independent and focused on learning how to advocate for themselves. In 2012, the organisation changed the approach to supporting individuals in a more person-centered manner which meant I began working closely with 6 people exploring options for personal fulfillment and supporting or facilitating them to achieve their goals through their person-centered plans. As the organisation was going through change, I was also chosen by management to support three employees as they learned how to adopt the new approach. In 2012, I also began delivering a FETAC Level 5 Community Inclusion course in conjunction with SOS Kilkenny and WALK for employees and individuals being supported, which was rolled out to over 300 people and ran 18 months into 2013. In 2013, the organisation introduced the Menu of Options, which I was heavily involved in developing and provided options for people to explore that they indicated they wanted to pursue. The Menu of Options cycles occurred 3-4 times per year and allowed for review of effectiveness each time, dictating the direction to be taken next. In April 2013, I attended The Immersion Event, in Killarney, a week-long conference with specialists from the disability sector.
