Teaching Health and World History to 9th and 10th graders in a stand alone classroom setting.I was also learning to teach in a different culture as teaching in Hawaii is a different experience from teaching in California. There are many different cultural norms that I had to adjust to create working classroom expectations.

Implemented lesson plans based on on-line course prescribed by the school. I would hold virtual classrooms 2 hours a week with the students to implement direct instruction for students to better understand the material they were reading about.I also held office hours for about 20 hours a week to help students in small group or one on one instruction to work on concepts covered or building written skills.

I taught World History, Government, Economics, and AP Microeconomics in a comprehensive new-tech high school. While teaching here I have gone through Project Based Learning training to expand my ability to use PBL in a more extensive manner in the classroom. I also have undertaken PD for many different subjects covered under the umbrella of social science as well as ones centered around new ideas for teaching.I served as advisor to our gaming club here on campus as well, to give the students a safe environment to enjoy playing both board and video games.
